The DS-816N builds on the capabilities of the DS-812N with the addition of an integrated thermostatic heating chamber, allowing accurate colour measurement of viscous or temperature-sensitive liquids.
 
The heating system can maintain sample temperatures of up to 90°C, making the instrument particularly suitable for materials such as oils, waxes, fats, resins and other liquids that require heating to remain fluid during measurement.
 
Like the DS-812N, the instrument measures across the full 360–780 nm spectral range and supports a wide range of liquid colour standards including APHA, Gardner, Saybolt, ASTM colour, EBC and ICUMSA. The result is a precise and repeatable method for liquid colour measurement without the subjectivity of visual comparison methods.
 
The DS-816N is therefore ideal for laboratories and production environments where heated liquid samples or improved measurement precision are required.
